All this time when I was not teaching in Japan I was busy in the Alaska {explained elsewhere}. As I trudged about the ice there, it was a raven that alit on the ice, nearby. Despite being within striking distance of my goal (and another world record) I got the message, of what for the native Peoples is considered the ‘messenger’ bird. I immediately fixed my position and left that land, resolving never to return until I had found the answer to my wanderings. I had no idea how long this would take. 20-years, never, I simply didn’t know. In point of fact, by late summer I pulled the strands together, and in this fashion.
