I have made the simple -- kiddie simple actually, suggestion as to what a Basic Education might be considered to be. Sometimes ideas are so simple ironically, that nobody has ever thought of it! This has happened in the case of children’s education. Of course we all of have ideas to do things better. Sure. However, how many ideas get the US to issue special ‘Green cards’, use officially the term “extraordinary” and consider it one of the 300 or so, ideas that could change intractable problems?? This is what I consider a basic education should be demanded and expected of every young person. At the same time give the nation what it needs, and the young person the promise that not a minute of their valuable time need ever be wasted.
