There are cases therefore where minus grades would be 'awarded' (detracted) i.e., penalties. I will give you a personal example: My job had put me into accommodation in what is none other than the richest community in Japan. The look and feel of my room is of a hotel; there is even a front desk, and an aged maid who pop in once a week. The building houses mostly young students (children of the rich!) who attend the local non-college set-up. A pretty comfortable place therefore, to while away four years. The point here is: these students have in no way earned such a lifestyle; it is from foolish parents’ wealth alone, though in some cases, great sacrifice.

So why Not Minus Grades?
